The Thames between Rainham and Purfleet

A research trip following the North foreshore of the Thames at low tide between Rainham and Purfleet, skirting the medieval marshes of Rainham, Wennington and Aveley, previously an MOD firing range, now a nature reserve; a large rice factory; Second World War concrete landing vessels; the remains of a neolithic forest visible at low tide; and a large landfill site (see also Submerged forests, concrete barges and mud).

Below set of images photographed on Orwo UP15 ciné film, printed on vintage fibre-based photographic paper and exhibited (in part) in Undertow at Sluice HQ.
